In December 2012 Philip Catherine, world renown jazz guitarist from Belgium was celebrating his 70th Birthday. For this occasion he has toured with his new band and appeared at Skoda Jazz Festival, gave concerts in Roma and Antwerp, 13 Dec 2012.
Philip Catherine has been on the European jazz scene since the sixties. He played with such artists as Chet Baker, Jean luc Ponty, Charles Mingus, Dexter Gordon, Richard Galliano, Niels-Henning Pedersen, Stepphane Grappelli, Toots Thielemans and Buddy Guy. He was the leading guitarist of progressive-rock band Focus.
Definitely we can call him "the father" of the Belgian jazz scene.

I remember my first jazz fascinations many years ago. And Mr Catherine was among those figures I liked most in that time.
After 40 years I can still enjoy his music. Thanks for this great share!
