
Undisputed king of the blues influenced many later electric blues guitarists and is ranked No. 6 on Rolling Stone magazine's 2011 list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. Probably the gratest blues song he performed ever was "The Thrill Is Gone", written by Roy Hawkins and Rick Darnell in 1951. B.B. was best known for playing variants of the Gibson ES-355. In 1980, Gibson Guitar Corporation launched the B.B. King Lucille model.
