Irish blues guitarist, Rory Gallagher became fascinated in his teens with American blues and folk singers including such names as Leadbelly, Buddy Guy, Freddie King, Albert King, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker. He began his recording career after moving to London, when he formed a trio called Taste. Gallagher began performing under his own name in 1971, after releasing his 1970 debut, self-titles album. He sold over thirty million albums worldwide, but his live performances won him greatest acclaim. Gallagher passed away from complications after a liver transplant in1995, at age 47.
