According to Wikipedia we have over 1300 jazz standards! Many written by jazz musicians, many written by different composers as songs for musicals, films or theater that became really popular.
The most recorded jazz standard is "Body and Soul" by Johnny Green, followed by "Stardust" written by Hoagy Carmichael'. The most recorded standard written by jazz musician is "'Round Midnight" composed by Thelonious Monk.
Many jazz standards were arranged and performed on guitar and that's what I was always interested in.
