I'm big fun of Al Di Meola for over 25 years.
So it's a pleasure for me to share some videos and info about my guitar hero.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on July 22, 1954. eola's first instrument was drums, but soon (aged 8) he switched to guitar.
In the early 1970s Di Meola studied instrumental performance at Boston's Berklee School of Music and performed with jazz keyboardist Barry Miles.
In 1974, he received an invitation from Chick Corea to take part in some rehearsals and after a weekend with the band Return to Forever, Di Meola made his debut with the group in Carneggie Hall.
With Reurn To Forever Meola enjoyed great commercial success which allowed Meola to launch a solo career.
His solo career started from brilliant jazz fusion CDs: in 1976 Land of the Midnight Sun; in 1977 Elegant Gypsy y Casino; and in 1979 Splendid Hotel.
From 1980 he gained great musical attention playing in trio formed up with guitar giants John McLaughling and Paco de Lucia while recording Friday Night in San Francisco.
Throughout the '80s and '90s, Di Meola contine his succesful career playing with artists like Paul Simon, Stanley Jordan, Corea, Clarke, Paco de Lucia, and McLaughlin.
During the '90s, di Meola oncentrated more on acoustic-based world music, releasing such albums as World Sinfonia, Di Meola Plays Piazzolla, and Heart of the Immigrants, among others.
