David Gilmour in studio showing some solo from "Us and Them" song. In 1970 Rick Wright worked on the soundtrack to the 1970 movie Zabriskie Point. The director of Zabriskie Point, Michelangelo Antonioni, rejected "Us and Them" song as "beautiful, but too sad... ". But the song was included to Dark Side of the Moon sessions and became one of key songs in Pink Floyd's era. Gilmour sings lead, but song was written by Roger Waters and Rick Wright.
Possibly you may not know that initially ""Us and Them" was rejected by Pink Floyd's recording company to be released. They recognized song's melody line as too much depressing...

Too much depressing? I never thought this way since I've heard the song for the first time in the early '70s
