Yamandu is probably most advanced and most popular 7-string guitarist in Brazil. He's excellent as solo artist, playing with ensemble, orchestra or accompanying other artists.
Mauricio Carrilho who composed suite for guitar and orchestra is one of most important names in contemporary Brazilian choro. As a composer, Carrilho started in 1967. After 1989, when he became friends with the poet Paulo César Pinheiro, he wrote 40 compositions with him.
