Jazz standard The Nearness Of You was written by Hoagy Carmichael in 1938 and as a song with lyrics by Ned Washington became most popular thanks to Glenn Miller Orchestra recording, with a vocal by Ray Eberle in same year.
In the following years it was performed by such artists as Norah Jones, Diana Krall and even by Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones.
