I Won't Last A Day Without You, a song composed by Roger Nichols with lyrics written by Paul Williams was the hit single for The Carpenters (American vocal and instrumental duo consisting of siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter) in 1974.
The Carpenters duo was very popular in 70s and beginning of 80s. Probably best known song recorded by duo was "Close to You", written by Burt Bacharach. They recorded 11 albums until Karen's death in 1983 from heart failure brought on by her conditional anorexia.
Death of Karen Capenter shocked the world. Anorexia was not something that was talked about those days, and first time it brought social attention as dangerous disease.
In video The Carpenters' song was arranged for solo jazz guitar and performed by one of most respected jazz guitarists Martin Taylor. http://www.martintaylor.com
