Swing and jazz guitarist, Charlie Christian(1916 - 1942) by many is considered to be the father of bebop, jazz style developed in the early and mid-1940. He was a member of the Benny Goodman Sextet and Orchestra. He has influenced most of jazz guitarists Les Paul, Barney Kessel, George Benson, Herb Ellis, Tal Farlow, Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, and Jim Hall.
"Swing to Bop" is one of key compositions by Christian for bebop era in jazz, recorded first live at a jam session at Minton's in Harlem in 1941.
