Pat Metheny and his weird orchestra

Fascinated by latest advances in electronic music technology, legendary jazz guitarist Pat Metheny assembled an automated robot orchestra to accompany his guitar.
Some mechanisms looks pretty weird or funny, and I'm not sure if it sounds real.
But let's treat it as another Pat's experiment and experience. In 2010 Metheny even released "Orchestrion" album. The majority of the music o album is played in real time by the orchestrion, with Metheny alone layering his guitar.
Interesting is how Metheny explains and understands this kind of music
"I really feel like someday somebody's gonna invent something that is not a speaker as a way of presenting sound. To me, music coming from singular sources in a room is really not what music sounds like. It's an interesting reproduction mode and certainly I make records. But in terms of what happens when you're playing on stage, it's nothing like that."
