Rare 1979 footage of Paco De Lucia and Ramón de Algeciras playing initial part of Al Di Meola's Mediterranean Sundance smoothly switching to Entre dos Aguas, the most famous Paco's composition, from his first compilation album released in 1975.
It's interesting that most of people first heard Paco playing "Mediterranean Sundance" with Al Di Meola on "Friday Night in San Francisco" famous acoustic live album. The album was release in 1981, and the concert that it was recorded from took place in Warfield Theatre, San Franciisco, December 5, 1980.
Seems Paco de Lucia already knew Meola's phenomenal piece before this event.

Well I think you missed that Paco de Lucia first appeared on Al Di Meola's album "Elegant Gypsy" in 1977 to record "Mediterranean Sundance" in acoustic duet with Al Di Meola. Possibly this was their first time. First time Al saw Paco during his European tour with Chick Corea's Return to Forever in '75 and 2 years later invited Paco to record on Elegant Gypsy album.

No, I didn't missed it. I knew it. But I guess that most people remember "Mediterranean Sundance" from Friday Night in San Francisco concert.
