My little (and brief) tribute to this great musician who just left us. I discovered him when he played at ECM Records with Metheny, Towner, Jarret and a few others who were revolutionizing the concept of "contemporary jazz". His influences and teachings have nourished an entire generation that we are indebted to him. We have his masterful music.

August 2017 is really fatal for jazz world. First we lost Chuck Loeb, now John Abercrombie. I used to listen to John a lot during his activity for ECM Records. He was one of those who introduced me to jazz music. R.I.P.

Antonio Machado, a well-known Spanish poet of the early twentieth century wrote:

All goes, and all remains,
but our task is to go,
to go creating roads
roads through the sea.

In memory of a great musician.
