Born in Israel, jazz guitarist Gilad Hekselman career exploded once he moved to the United States and received a scholarship.at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York. In July 2005, he won the Gibson–Montreux Jazz Festival Guitar Competition and since then he performed with such greats as Anat Cohen, Mark Dayna Stephens, Jeff Ballard, John Scofield, Ari Hoenig, Chris Potter and Esperanza Spalding. In 2018 he teamed with bassist Rick Rosato, drummer Jonathan Pinson and Aaron Parks on synths, Rhodes and piano to record new CD 'Ask for Chaos'. With a feather-light touch on his guitar Hekselman prooves that Ask For Chaos, is argubably his finest music to date, showcasing the many sides of his immense talent.
