Earl Hooker, Chicago blues guitarist (born in Clarksdale in 1929). In 1930 he moved with his parents to Chicago, where he start playing guitar at about 1945.
Influenced first by styles of T-Bone Walker and Robert Nighthawk, he also learned learned from other guitarists of different genres aside from the blues, like country & western, jazz, pop and rock and roll.
Earl never had a day job. He made his living full-time playing music, collaborating with jazz and country artists. He always returned to the blues however.
