Johnny and his two years younger brother Edgar (also blues musician) were born with albinism. At the age of 15 Johnny released his first album "School Day Blues" with Johnny and the Jammers band. He was under heavy influence of classic blues musicians such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and Bobby Bland.
