Born in Constanta, Romania, classical guitarist Silviu Ciulei playing probably most popular, but also beautiful composition by Egberto Gismonti, renowned Brazilian composer, heavily influenced by Heitor Villa-Lobos.
Silviu Ciulei was awarded a Full International Scholarship to study guitar performance at Middle Tennessee State University and so he emigrated to USA. Interesting fact is that apart of very successful career as a classical guitarist, Silviu is also an acclaimed flamenco guitarist, sings flamenco songs and speaks fluently five languages.
