Carrossel by Helio Delmiro

Beautiful short guitar piece "Carrossel" was composed by Hélio Delmiro, Brazilian guitarist and composer, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1947. Influenced by his brothers, Hélio was interested in music from an early age. His brother, Carlos, was a guitarist. In the early 60's, when Hélio was 14, his interest in Bossa Nova led him to dedicate his music passion to the guitar. Throughout the 1960s he played with important names in the Brazilian musical scene,including internationally acclaimed musicians such as Elis Regina, João Bosco, Toninho, Milton Nascimento and Tom Jobim. In the 70's, his music and vistuosity attracted the interest of musicians of international suit, mainly jazz musicians, like Jeremy Steig, Dave Grusin, Sarah Vaughan, Clare Fischer and Lalo Schifrin.

Valse composition "Carrossel" by Delmiro was the theme of the master's thesis by another Brazilian guitarist Vinícius Gomes and was published under title "Helio Delmiro - Compositions for solo guitar." in 2012. In video you can watch Vinícius Gomes playing "Carrossel" beautifully.
