Espero Que Estés Bien (I Hope You Are Well) is a piece I composed while the hurricane “Irma” (Sept. 2017) rampaged through the Caribbean and Florida. I know (and have known) many people in Florida and I was worried for their safety and well-being. Luckily all people I have been in contact with are OK, though some of their homes were flooded. My thoughts reach out for them and for all the people in the poorer countries that were affected by Irma (and later Maria), among them Puerto Rico, Cape Verde, Leeward Islands (especially Barbuda, Saint Barthelemy, Anguilla, Saint Martin and the Virgin Islands), Greater Antilles (Cuba and Puerto Rico), Turks and Caicos Islands and The Bahamas.
