Mangoré - For the Love of Art

"Mangoré, por Amor al Arte" is the title of the 2015 movie, the real life story of Agustín Barrios, an influential and important composer and classical guitarist from Paraguay. Born in Paraguay in 1885 talented Agustín was persuaded in his young adult age to move to Buenos Aires, the cultural hub of South America. In Argentina he began an affair with the beautiful Isabel but, despite fathering two children with her, never married. After retun to native Paraguay Agustín performed under the stage name Mangoré. he travelled with his brother, artistic manager. This was hard for both of them. They frequently had trouble getting paid by theater and club owners. During one of shows, Agustín met Gloria, an exotic dancer, and the two began a passionate affair ended with marriage....
Directed by Luis R. Vera, starred by Damián Alcázar, Rafael Alfaro, Clotilde Cabral "Mangoré" movie was released on DVD in 2015. Full title ("For the Love of Art" is a little misleading since the description and DVD notes are in English but the movie is available only in Spanish.
