There are at least four castles named Castle of Dromore or Dromore Castle in the counties Down, Kerry, Limerick and Tyrone. Several discussions on the Internet are dedicated to pinpoint the geographical location of the lullaby Castle of Dromore without decisive outcome. Without solid proof Dromore Castle, in County Tyrone is taking the lead.
However the pictures in video rather shows Dromore Castle designed in the Gothic revival style by Edward William Godwin and built for the Earl of Limerick in the early 1870's, abandoned by the family during World War 1 and finally sold in 1939.
Whatever..., The Castle Dromore in video is performed by Daniel Girdner and I don't know much about hitm. Possibly he's from Whidbey Island in Washington State, 30 miles north of Seattle and is playing classical guitar fror more than 25 years. The arrangement he plays in video is by Guy Bergeron, Canadian musician from Quebec.
