I remember once I met a beautiful, very smart woman. She was much older than me but we became friends. Just good friends (only). We used to talk a lot about life, about music, poetry, books. One day I made a gift for her. This was a book by Thomas Stearns Eliot with opening poem "Portrait of a Lady". The end of our friendship was very sad. The lady sailed with her husband for the first time on a big ship. The ship exploded and broke in half. Nobody survived, including sailors wives. Total 29 people. My lady and her husband left 2 beautiful daughters.
Your song Mr. Kindgren just reminded me this unusual story that happened 30 years ago.
Regards.

Dear friend,
My story behind this music: I played a concert in Ceret in South of France 2008 and my Venezuelan girlfriend traveled with me all over Europe that summer. We stayed at an American couple's house in Ceret and in the morning of the concert we walked down to the market to buy local cheese, fruit and meat. On the marketplace there was this Chinese artist making incredible lifelike portraits. I suggested my girlfriend to have her portrait painted and to my surprise she accepted. (She was very private) She is not with me anymore but I still have her painting in my hallway to remember her beautiful face.
What a sad story you have! Life is sad and rough sometimes. I never heard of a ship exploding in the '90-ties! What a story!
Thank you for sharing it.
