David Gilmour’s Black Strat Guitar sold for $3,975,000

David Gilmour's personal collection of 120 guitars went on sale through Christie's auction house in New York City on June 20. The legendary ‘Black Strat’, which was integral to the recording of Pink Floyd albums 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', 'Wish You Were Here', 'Animals' and 'The Wall' was sold for $3,975,000 — a new world record for a guitar at auction.
