Recorded by Robert Johnson during his last recording session in 1937 in Dallas, Texas "Stop Breakin' Down" was described as an "upbeat boogie with a strong chorus line". Eric Clapton recorded it along with several other Robert Johnson songs for his 2004 tribute album, Me and Mr. Johnson. Clapton described Johnson as, "the most important blues singer that ever lived". Johnson not only left an impact on Clapton, but he left his mark in the world of blues with his signature "boogie bass line."

Video release entitled Sessions for Robert J was released on December 2004, and featured different versions of each of the songs from "Me and Mr. Johnson" album.
