Žalopojka is the second piece from Six Balkan Miniatures composed by Serbian-born American gifted composer, improviser and classical guitarist, Dusan Bogdanović. Born in Yugoslavia Bogdanović completed his studies of composition and orchestration at the Geneva Conservatory with P. Wissmer and A. Ginastera. He has written numerous solo guitar compositions for such masteros as Alvaro Pierri, David Starobin, William Kanengiser, Scott Tennant, James Smith and others.
In video this is award-winning classical guitarist based in Germany, Karmen Stendler who interprets "Žalopojka" (Lament) by Dusan Bogdanović. Apart of being extremely gifted guitarist Karmen do yoga and has a black belt in karate. She is fluent in Slovenian, English, German, Spanish and Serbian languages and currently is learning French and Italian.
