These four short Preludes were originally composed for the piano. When I arranged them for the classical guitar, my main purpose was to make more of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music accessible to a wider range of guitarists. There are so many pieces of his music arranged for the guitar that are unobtainable for most “non-professional” guitarists. And, to be honest, not always suitable for solo guitar with their immense complexity.
The arrangements can very well be played separately or, as a “suite”. If you want to play them as a suite (together after each other), I suggest you keep the order as they are here; (939, 941, 940, 934) so they make a complete whole, regarding the keys and tempi.
