This is a strange one… I saw a music documentary about Italian pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli (1920 – 1995). He is considered as one of the greatest pianists of the twentieth century!! but for most people he is totally unknown. I was absolutely mesmerized by his playing and his life story and personality. Obviously not a very nice person but, my God, what a pianist! He had a “weakness” for a choir in his part of Italy called Cora della SAT. No one knows why. Michelangeli arranged this Lullaby for that choir and I was blown away by the sound. I decided to make an arrangement for guitar. Of course it can never be the same as 3 male voices but I think it can be played on a solo guitar too. What do you think?
The Italian lyrics are about a tired mother that needs her son to sleep before she cracks up.
