I wrote this on 1. January 2023 right after knowing John passed away. As it happens so frequently with me in periods where things in my life changes, it came to me in minutes.
The title is based on a poem found inside a lute from the 1600 Century. John always used it in all his instruments:

Viva fui in Silvis I was alive in the forest
Sum dura occisa I was cut by the cruel axe
Securi dum vixi tacui In life I was silent
Mortua dulce cano In death I sweetly sing

It refers, of course, to the wood the lute was made from. I am sure John is also singing were ever he is. Additional images and videos are from when I visited them in Beijing.
