Great lesson on how to play "Lay Down Sally" - hit song by Eric Clapton from his 1977 album Slowhand.

"Lay Down Sally" is country song, and even if Eric almost never play or write country, "Lay Down Sally" became a hit, covered later by hundreds of other artists.
Marcy Levy, one of Clapton's backup singers, wrote this with him and sang on it. She toured with Bob Seger before joining Clapton's band in 1973. In 1988, Levy, using the name Marcella Detroit, joined former Bananarama singer Siobhan Fahey to form Shakespear's Sister.
The song is also credited to Marcy Levy, one of Clapton's backup singers, who joined Clapton's band in1973 and to George Terry, member of Clapton's band, who played guitar on the album's track.

Clapton wrote this song with Marcy Levy, Clapton's backup singer who joined Clapton's band in 1973. Clapton said he wrote the song in the style of his friend and one of his favorite songwriters, J.J. Cale.

Fantastic tutorial, but the video player has no control to rewind, which makes it difficult to learn from.

This is Doug Boduch who teaches Clapton. He is the primary session guitarist for Hal Leonard Corpration and has recorded more than 300 book/CDs and DVDs.
