"Tearing Us Apart" is less popular song by Eric Clapton today, though it was a minor hit in the UK. The song was recorded first time in duet with Tina Turner on Clapton's 1986 album August, produced by Phil Collins, who played drums on album. Clapton and Turner performed this song 1986 at The Prince's Trust Rock Gala in London's Wembley Stadium.
The story behind the song is about the Patti Boyd's circle of friends who Eric blamed for coming between them.
"Tearing Us Apart" live recording with Clapton guesting on guitar and vocals was also included on TIna Turner's 1988 album Tina Live in Europe.
In video this is Clapton's live performance in Hyde Park June 29 1996. Of course this is great Steve Gadd on drums, and female vocal part is by Michelle John.
