This is a lovely piece, originally for the piano, composed by Erik Satie. Satie is an interesting composer. He would often make fun of the musical establishment with his pieces. A piano book I have states,"The eccentric French composer loved to satirize academic rules in general and the impressionistic titles of Debussy's of Debussy's compositions in particular, giving his own works such surrealistic names as Pieces in Pear Form and Dried Embryos." The tempo direction Satie gave in the score is, Slow and Painful.
