You are listening to a tribute to Roland Dyens written on November 2016 by the Greek composer guitarist and teacher Minas Bogris .
I wish to express my gratitude to Professor Minas Bogris for being so kind to send me the score of his beautiful works.
Born in Piraeus in 1970, Minas Bogris studied classical guitar with Panayotis Deliyannis at the “Piraeus Association Conservatory”, graduating with distinction (Guitar Certificate in 1993 and subsequently a First Class Diploma in 1998). He also studied Advanced Theory of Music under Yiannis Avgerinos, completing his studied in 2006. He has attended seminars by distinguished guitarists Anielo Desiderio, Zoran Dukic, Gerard Reinhenbach, Roland Dyens and Al di Meola. He has given solo recitals and has participated in concerts for voice and guitar as well as chamber music. He teaches guitar at the Pithagorio Concervatory.
He has been composing music and doing adaptations of musical works at the same time. He has received awards and prizes in composition contests (1st Pan-Hellenic Guitar Works Composition Contest organized by the National Conservatory in 1998, 5th and 7th International Composition Contests of Volos organized by the “Foudoulis Conservatory” in 2007 and 2009 respectively), presenting compositions for guitar that form part of his first personal discographic work titled Hidden Paths, released by Legend Company in December 2010. His second discographic work titled Window With a View, released by Metronomos Company in December 2019 and includes his songs with lyrics by Michalis Brouzos. The singer is Spyros Kleissas.
He is a graduate of the Piraeus Technological Institute, Faculty of Electronics and he holds a Postgraduate Degree in Information Technology and Communication for Education in the University of Athens. He currently works as a Docent at the Faculty of Electronics Engineering at the Univercity of West Attica.
