Al Di Meola - Cafe 1930
Great arrangement of Astor Piazzolla's piece "Cafe 1930", first recorded by Al Di Meola on on his Astor Piazzolla tribute album "Di Meola Plays Piazzolla" in 1990 and later on "World Sinfonia II: Heart of the Immigrants" album in 1993.
Meola met Argentinian composer Piazzolla in Japan and was fascinated by his tango music; he planned next meetings and cooperation, but due to great composer's death all what he could do was to arrange, play and record his compositions.
Cafe 1930 is one of my favorite Meola's accoustic recordings, same like entire "Heart of the Immigrants" CD. Highly suggested for fans of this kind of music and Piazzolla's music as well.
